Tubi Launches a Creator Program to Bring YouTubers to the Free Streaming Service

Fox’s free streaming service, Tubi, announced today a new program that will bring content from YouTube creators to the platform. Tubi for Creators will begin with six content creators and will be led by Rich Bloom, previously a GM at Vimeo.

“We’re listening to our viewers and recognize their desire for more stories that reflect culture and talent from the digital world,” said Anjali Sud, CEO of Tubi. “As the home for free, premium entertainment, Tubi is uniquely poised to bring the creator economy to Hollywood and expand the pathways for creators to succeed in long-form storytelling. Rich has spent his career in video partnering and supporting creators, and I’m excited for him to accelerate our efforts to help more storytellers find their audience and bring more unique stories to our fans.”

Creators joining the program today include:

“I’m thrilled to join Tubi as they are committed to offering creators unique opportunities, creative freedom and importantly, an audience,” said Rich Bloom, General Manager, Creator Programs & Executive Vice President, Business Development at Tubi. “Many creators today function like full-fledged production studios creating longer-form, episodic content that is a perfect fit for broader distribution and Tubi is the right partner to level-up their content and grow their audience.”

The new program is just the latest initiative in Tubi’s strategy of giving a larger platform to creators while growing the service’s library with unique content. Last week, Tubi and Kickstarter announced a partnership that will bring Kickstarter-funded films to the streaming service, as well as funding some projects to get them over the finish line.
