Tubi & Hisense Are Launching a Free New Streaming Service For Cord Cutters

tubi logoToday Tubi and Hisense’s Vidaa announced a deal to launch a free new streaming service in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the UK where Tubi will launch in 2020. With this new deal, you will be able to enjoy Tubi’s large library of content on the new platform. The new Hisense TVs powered by Vidaa will have Tubi preloaded and prominently placed on its home screen.

“We’re excited to expand Tubi’s device footprint to include Hisense televisions with the new Vidaa platform, continuing our mission to make entertainment more accessible to everyone,” said Michael Ahiakpor, Tubi chief product officer. “Hisense has been a global leader in consumer electronics and is a perfect partner as we ramp up our international expansion in 2020.”

This all comes as late last year Tubi launched a new kids’ area that will include movies like How to Train Your DragonNorm of the North, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, alongside series with iconic characters including Sonic the Hedgehog, Strawberry Shortcake, Paddington Bear, and The Wiggles—all completely free. For parents, this new area will let them know their kids are watching content that is appropriate for them.

Tubi also again announced that as of October 2019, Tubi has streamed over 132 million hours a 40% increase in just four months.

No exact date has been set for when this new service will start to roll out, but it should happen in 2020.
