Traveling as a Cord Cutter Just Became Easier

Traveling as a cord cutter can sometimes be painful. Wi-Fi at public spots like airports can be painfully slow, often far too slow to download a movie or TV show between flights. It can be particularly painful when a new show or movie just came out that you want to watch during your flight.

To help fix this issue, a new service called Digiboo has released an app for iOS and Android, enabling you to connect to their kiosks located in about 100 locations today, with a plan to add 2,000 more locations over the next year. Digiboo allows you to download movies and TV shows to your tablet by using their kiosks or connecting to their Wi-Fi networks.

Digiboo enables you to download a 1GB file to your device in about 3 minutes. A far faster download speed compared to the typical airport Wi-Fi network, allowing travelers to quickly get a movie or TV show between flights. (Note: Android users need the kiosks to select a movie or TV show; however, once it is selected, the download automatically begins.)

Movie rentals are typically $4.99 for new movies and $3.99 for older movies. You have 48 hours to view your movie or show once the download completes, unlike most services that start the clock after you start the video. Digiboo may not be the killer service to wipe out iTunes or Amazon, but it is a great option for someone who forgot to download a movie before leaving for the airport. Or it is perfect if you are caught in a long delay and finished all your movies.
