Here Are the Top 5 Reasons People Cancel Cable

So what is driving people to become cord cutters? DigitalSmiths, a TiVo-owned research company, took a look at the top reasons people are ditching traditional pay TV such as cable.

Here are the top 5 reasons people cancel cable TV:

#1 Convenience

#2 It’s cheaper

#3 No commercials or ads

#4 Ability to watch what they want and binge watch

#5 Better selection

Many are likely surprised to see convenience as a more popular option that the price point; however, there is a lot to be said about the ability to have your content when and where you want it. Just this week I took a trip to see family and brought a Roku along. After plugging the Roku Stick into the TV it was like I was right at home. All of my shows on Movies on Amazon and all my Sling TV channels are right there with me.

I do think many will agree the ability to avoid commercials is a major selling point to being a cord cutter.
