Top 10 Most Popular Subscription Streaming Services with Cord Cutters

The battle for your cord cutting dollar is getting crowded and aggressive with more than 100 streaming services available in the United States. But what services do cord cutters really use?

We asked more than 1,220 of our readers, and they told us. The following list ranks them from the most popular:

It is likely no surprise that Netflix is #1 and Amazon #2 but it probably is shocking to see how close they are because this would be considered a tactical tie. We have known for sometime that Hulu was in a distant third place but to see it so far behind among cord cutters is likely a surprise.

I found it interesting to see Sling TV, PlayStation Vue, and DIRECTV NOW all with about the same number of subscribers. Sling TV, the oldest of the three services, is understandable. PlayStation Vue, the second oldest with almost a full year of availability nationwide to build an audience, makes sense; however, to see the now only a few months old DIRECTV NOW so close to Sling TV and PlayStation Vue was a bit of a shock.

The main thing that always shocks me is the number of people who use iTunes. Stuck at eleventh place behind HBO NOW and CBS All Access is iTunes, a service you would expect to have high usage based on the number of iOS users.

Did any of this surprise you? Maybe YouTube in third place? iTunes in eleventh place? What stands out to you? Let us know in the comments.
