Three Things We Wish Netflix Would Change

Netflix_Web_LogoNetflix is a great service, but there are still a few areas that they could improve upon. Here is our wish list of three areas we would like Netflix to update.

Quality Controls

We wish Netflix would give users the ability to control the quality of the stream right from their apps on devices like Roku, Apple TV, and the Fire TV. It would be a huge help to set children’s cartoons to a lower quality for people with data caps. Streaming cartoons seems to look the same on medium and high.

This could easily save a lot of wasted GBs for users with data caps.

Leave Dates

We’d like to see or receive notifications when content is leaving a service. Netflix used to do this on the PlayStation app. Next to a title it would say “leaves Netflix on X date.” It has already happened to me where I was watching a show, and one day it was gone. It would have been nice to have received a notification so I could have rushed through the show before it left Netflix.

Better Parental Controls

Netflix offers parental controls; however, they are easy to get around. You need to set the parental controls for each profile. If you are a parent and want full access but also want to limit what your kids can watch, you can create a profile for your kids and limit it. However, nothing stops your kids from just using your profile.

So we would love to see Netflix add pins to profiles, which would prevent kids from gaining full access just by picking their parents’ Netflix profile.

So that is our short wish list. What would you like to see changed?
