The Catchy Binge on Catchy Comedy will stream a marathon of That’s My Mama and The Royal Family this weekend.

The binge starts on February 3 at 12:00 p.m. ET with That’s My Mama through 2:30 p.m. ET on February 4. At 3:00 p.m. ET, The Royal Family takes over through 5:30 a.m. ET on February 5.

That’s My Mama is the first series produced by Columbia Pictures Television. The sitcom debuted on September 4, 1975, and ran for two seasons, consisting of 39 episodes concluding with, “Well, that’s my mama!” before its cancellation on December 24, 1975, due to being dwarfed by the popularity of Little House on the Prairie

The series features a young man, Clifton Curtis, running Oscar’s Barber Shop, which he inherited from his late father. Although he enjoys bachelorhood, his mother pushes him to find a wife and settle down. The series starred Clifton Davis, Theresa Merritt, Theodore Wilson, Lynne Moody, Jester Hairston, DeForest Covan, Ted Lange, Lisle Wilson, Joan Prinle, and Helen Martin.

The Royal Family is a 15-episode CBS sitcom created by Eddie Murphy that ran from September 18, 1991, to May 13, 1992. The series chronicles the life of Alexander Alphonso “Al” Royal and his wife Victoria, who were looking forward to retirement before their daughter Elizabeth comes for an “extended visit” with her three children after some marital problems.

The series starred Redd Foxx of Sandford and Son fame, who died from a heart attack during rehearsals, which the cast briefly thought was a playful nod to his former role. The show continued but was canceled after a hiatus as the show regrouped after the loss of Foxx. CBS canceled the series during the first season with two unaired episodes, which were released 27 years later on Decades in 2019, which became Catchy Comedy in May of 2023.

Catchy Comedy hosts a collection of classic sitcoms and variety shows spanning the 50s through the 90s. Each weekend, the channel hosts The Catchy Binge featuring a series, or three in this case, such as The Andy Griffith Show, I Love Lucy, and Laverne & Shirley.
