We already talked about a scam that is targeting new Roku users and Roku users looking for tech support. Well, now it seems that there is an even newer scam targeting Roku owners and this time you will find it in your email box.
This time Roku owners are getting emails that claim to be from Roku. These emails tell Roku owners that their Roku has been deactivated and that they need to call Roku to get it reactivated. If you call the number you will be told you need to pay $80 and sometimes more to get your Roku account reactivated.
Now it is important to remember two things Roku does not charge to activate your Roku and their tech support is 100% free. Any time you get an email that says to call to avoid something bad stop and do your research.
