‘The West Wing’ Cast is Reuniting on HBO Max to Encourage Voting

The cast of WarnerBros early 2000s series The West Wing is coming together for a special to stream on HBO Max ahead of the 2020 election. “A West Wing Special to Benefit When We All Vote,” will debut this fall to encourage viewers to remember to vote in the upcoming election.

The HBO Max special will feature a theatrical stage re-enactment of the episode “Hartsfield’s Landing” episode from season three of The West Wing. The performance will be shot at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles in early October under COVID-19 health safety guidelines.

Series creator Aaron Sorkin will also write some new original content for the special, with Rob Lowe, Dulé Hill, Allison Janney, Janel Moloney, Richard Schiff, Bradley Whitford, and Martin Sheen all returning to their original roles for the episode.

Launched in 2018, “When We All Vote” is a non-profit, nonpartisan organization co-chaired by Michelle Obama, Tom Hanks, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Janelle Monae, Chris Paul, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. The organization’s mission is to increase voting participation in every election.
