The Weather Channel’s Local Now Relaunches With a New Look

This week, The Weather Channel announced an all-new refresh to the Local Now service. Local Now has a fresh look and a full-time host, Sasha Rionda.

“We are super excited to introduce Sasha as the new face of Local Now. Her personality and relatable story-telling style will shine across our hyper-local markets as she delivers community news that matters,” said Marvin Renaud, senior vice president, digital for The Weather Group. “We look forward to connecting with more communities across the country and showcasing the best of what Local Now has to offer.”

If you have ever seen The Weather Channel’s Local on the 8s, you are likely familiar with Local Now. Yet not only does it show you local weather but also a rolling list of content from Associated Press, Reuters, Foursquare, American City Business Journals, Stadium, Cheddar, Pointslocal, SportRadar, Internet Video Archive, TrafficLand, INRIX, Flight Aware, and more.

Local Now includes the following:

Local Now is available on services and devices including Sling TV, YouTube TV, Xumo, MobiTV, fuboTV, Plex, iOS, Android, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV.

There has been hope that the service would be free after this new upgrade, but so far it looks like you still need to login with a supported service provider.
