YouTube TV and Allen Media Group have signed a deal that will keep The Weather Channel and other AMG-owned channels on the live TV streaming service.
With the multiyear deal, YouTube TV subscribers will also keep access to JusticeCentral, Comedy.TV, and Recipe.TV. Local Now, a free streaming service from AMG, will also continue to be available to YouTube TV subscribers.
“We are thrilled to extend our partnership with Google by continuing to provide our weather, news, comedy, court, and lifestyle networks to YouTube TV’s millions of subscribers,” said Byron Allen, Founder/Chairman/CEO of Allen Media Group in a statement about the extended deal.
“We are pleased to continue our relationship with Allen Media Group,” added Emily Washkowitz, Head of TV and Film Partnerships, YouTube. “Our goal is to provide a consistent and diverse lineup for our subscribers, and this renewed agreement helps us maintain that commitment.”
If subscriber trends continue, YouTube TV could become the largest live TV provider in the U.S. by the end of 2026. The service ended the first quarter of the year with an estimated 11 million to 12 million subscribers, according to industry analysts, while Spectrum saw its television customer base fall to 12.5 million for the quarter.
