Today The Weather Channel announced that they are partnering with Quibi to launch a daily weather show starting in April 2020. The new show will feature short-form national and hyper-localized weather and forecasting stories from The Weather Channel.

“The Weather Channel partnership with Quibi is an exciting new step for delivering vital weather and climate-related information daily to our ever-growing audience,” said Byron Allen, Founder/Chairman/CEO of Allen Media, owner of The Weather Channel. “As America’s number one weather/news network, The Weather Channel will provide Quibi the best-in-class curated short video clips every day – the ideal combination of weather and information on the Quibi platform.”

“Before people start their day, the one thing they absolutely need to know is the weather,” said Jeffrey Katzenberg, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Quibi. “We are excited about our partnership with The Weather Channel, which will deliver hyper-local forecasts and use immersive mixed reality to help audiences understand weather in a whole new way.”

If you take the ad-supported version there will be a 10-second ad in the video is under 5 minutes or a 15-second ad for videos over 5 minutes long.

The Weather Channel will be the exclusive weather partner of Quibi when it launches later this year.
