“ExchangeVUE is the first of its kind subscription-based Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) service dedicated exclusively for the enjoyment of US service members, DoD civilians and their families, the Exchange says on their website. “XVUE brings you hit TV shows, blockbuster movies and live TV from your favorite networks back home with a one time purchase of a DHI Elements Set Top Box and channel package!”
The service shows an impressive lineup of 57 channels such as channels owned by Disney, Discovery, A&E, FOX, NBCUniversal, PBS, and AMC, and includes C-Span, The Weather Channel, and the Hallmark Channel.
Now the price may not be the most competitive out there at $49.99 a month (on sale from $59.99), but there are no contracts and you get a collection of on-demand content including Tuner Classic Movies on demand.
ExchangeVUE has a few more rare channels including ESPN Classic, PBS, The Weather Channel, and C-Span. While some services may have these channels, they are fairly rare in the world of live TV streaming.
We are not sure exactly how long the service has been live. As a spouse of a military member, I have never heard of the service. This week they launched on the Fire TV, and before that, you needed to buy a custom Android-powered device. You can still buy the Android-powered device but now you no longer need it because you can use the Fire TV to stream ExchangeVUE.
ExchangeVue is rebranding a streaming service from Omniverse One World Television, Inc. Omniverse One World Television’s app already supports Roku and the Apple TV. We would expect ExchangeVue to roll out more device support soon.
