The Top Four Recent Superhero Premieres Ranked According to ReelGood

Good things often come in waves, and it seems to be that way when it comes to getting the superhero content we deserve. Over the past few months, we’ve seen the release of several new films from DC and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Last weekend alone marked the highly anticipated drop of two new releases: Zack Snyder’s Justice League arrived on HBO Max and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premiered its first episode on Disney+ within 24 hours of each other.

ReelGood pulled together some user data to find out which one of the two was more popular in different states across the US, and it seems like the Snyder Cut got the most attention with states like California, Texas, the PNW, and much of the Midwest. However, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was streamed by viewers in Nevada, Montana, Minnesota, Michigan, and some Southern states like Tennessee and Georgia.

So how do this past weekend’s releases stack up against other recent superhero films?

Being the thorough investigators that they are, the ReelGood team also dived into that question to leave no stone unturned when it comes to finding out which is the most popular recent premiere. The research took into account all ‘superhero’ themed movies and TV shows released between October 2020 and March to get to the bottom of this. According to the results, the premiere of WandaVision was the #1 hit among its 2 million users, followed by Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Wonder Woman 1984 came in at Third place, with the HBO Max titles in a Disney+ sandwich bookended with the premiere of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier as #4.
