The Top 10 Titles Trending on Netflix and Disney+ for the Week of October 8, 2021

Netflix’s top trending titles of the week are once again lead by the phenomenon that is Squid Game, the Korean thriller drama that has taken the internet by storm. In second place is Maid, starring Margaret Qualley as single mother Alex who turns to housecleaning to make ends meet as she escapes an abusive relationship and overcomes homelessness to create a better life for her daughter, Maddy.

Netflix’s Original series On My Block is trending at No. 3 after season 4 hit the platform on October 4, and Dave Chappelle: The Closer is fourth after its release this week. But not all the top ten most popular titles on the streamer right now are new originals. Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet’s classic Titanic is trending among Netflix viewers today, as well as 2015’s high school comedy The Duff.

Marvel Studios’ animated series What If…? has been trending at No. 1 on Disney+ for quite a while now, but that may change after the season finale dropped this week. Now fans will just have to wait until season 2, which has been confirmed. Another MCU hit is trending at No. 2 today. Black Widow became available to all Disney+ subscribers at no extra cost on October 6, and it looks like fans have wasted no time watching (or rewatching) the blockbuster hit.

The rest of the titles trending on Disney+ are pretty consistent from last week, with the new addition of the streamer’s Turner & Hooch reboot.
