We’re excited about the growth of The Roku Channel, which offers ad-supported content, live programming, and Premium Subscriptions all in a friendly, consistent UI, with a single login and one bill.” Roku said in a statement on their website.
You don’t need a Roku to access The Roku Channel. You can also go to TheRokuChannel.com and login with your Roku account to start browsing on most modern browsers including Chrome, Edge, Safari, and FireFox. You will have access to all the same movies and TV shows you would on a Roku without the need for an actual Roku player.
Roku also reported that they have added 2 million new active accounts. In total Roku now has 29.1 million accounts owners.
