The Roku Channel is Premiering 23 Roku Originals This Week

Roku announced today its upcoming slate of Roku Originals, premiering on August 13. The lineup includes four all new titles, along with more former Quibi titles making their debut on The Roku Channel.

The four all new titles include ‘Eye Candy’, based on the Japanese game show Sokkuri Sweets; ‘Squeaky Clean’, a cleaning competition hosted by Leslie Jordan; season 2 of ‘Thanks a Million’ from executive producer Jennifer Lopez; and the documentary ‘What Happens in Hollywood’.

“While it’s only been a few months since the launch of Roku Originals, the response has been overwhelming,” said Brian Tannenbaum, Head of Alternative Programming Roku. “We’re excited to keep the drumbeat of premium series, featuring Hollywood’s top talent, available only on the Roku Channel with this next slate of original programming.”

Here’s the full list of new titles being added to The Roku Channel later this week:

Colin Davis, Roku’s Head of Scripted Programming, said “Viewers will be on the edge of their seats with thrillers like ‘The Stranger’, ‘Survive’ and ‘Wireless,’ and then can laugh themselves silly with ‘Mapleworth Murders.’ These August additions continue to prove that we can offer something for everyone, and we could not be prouder for them to be devoured by the massive Roku audience.”

Roku Originals launched on May 20 on The Roku Channel with 30 titles acquired from Quibi. Since then, Roku Originals accounted for all five of the top television programs streamed on The Roku Channel this summer (from May 20 to July 18) by Roku active accounts.

In addition to Roku devices, The Roku Channel is available on the web, iOS and Android devices, Amazon Fire TV, and select Samsung TVs.
