SET TV is already in default judgment and was ordered to pay millions in damages. According to a report from TorrentFreak, the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) is asking the judge to not only hold the SET TV company liable for damages but also rule that the owner, Jason Labossiere, and employee, Nelson Johnson, be held liable for millions in damages.
SET TV was the example case that has been used to go after other IPTV services. If the judge rules that the owners—not just the company—can be held personally responsible for running a piracy service it could be the start of an avalanche of similar lawsuits.
Recently the owners of SET TV stopped replying to the lawsuit, resulting in the default judgment. If they fail to respond it is likely that a default judgment will also be entered against them in this new request.
Look for more lawsuits to come from ACE and other companies like DISH if they are successful in this request.
