The NBA is Testing $0.99 4th Quarter Streaming

Group of young people watching soccer matchEver see that there is a close game going on or a big upset in the works and wish you could see the ending? In the past, that meant subscribing to a streaming service. Now the NBA is a service that will let subscribers pay $0.99 to watch the 4th quarter of a game.

This $0.99 deal was first posted about by Vasu Kulkarni on Twitter:

The ability to buy single games has long been a dream of many. Well, this is still not what many want it is a massive step in the right direction. If these micro-transactions for 4th quarter NBA games turn out to be profitable, it could make the NBA more willing to go direct to fans with an in-market streaming service that is sold by the game.

Details are still thin on if this will be available in market or just for out of market games. The NBA has yet to confirm if blackouts will still be in place for this $0.99 deal. To get this deal, you need to have the NBA League pass app installed and just hope an alert shows up offering you the deal.
