The Free Streaming Service Redbox is Coming to Amazon’s Fire TV & Launch Interactive Video Shopping Ads

Today, Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment the parent company of Crackle and Crackle Connex, has announced a partnership with Amazon to expand its ad business. With this deal, Crackle Connex the advertising company, and Amazon will work together to offer new advertising capabilities to advertising services, including free ad-supported services like Crackle.

Part of this deal will mean that the Fire TV will finally have a Redbox video app that will allow customers to watch free movies and TV shows through Redbox.

With this deal, Crackle and Redbox will also become one of the first third-party publishers to support Amazon’s new interactive video ads. These ads will allow viewers to learn more about a product or add it to their Amazon shopping cart using their voice or remote.

“Working with Amazon Publisher Direct gives us access to new capabilities and allows us to leverage its growing offerings to the video advertising community,” said Philippe Guelton, chief revenue officer of Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment. “There is so much interoperability that will continue to be uncovered as Crackle Connex provides world-class streaming programming and leverages enhanced video advertising support from Amazon Publisher Direct.”

These new ads will launch first on Crackle and later on Redbox, both owned by Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment.

Interactive ads that allow customers to buy items right from their TVs have been a dream for many advertisers for years. Now, Amazon has built a platform to do just that and is slowly they are finding partners to air these ads.

To do this Crackle COnnex will work with Amazon Web Services and Amazon Publisher Direct opening so the companies can work closely together.
