The Conners is Coming to Free Streaming Services Thanks to Lionsgate

The back episodes of hit ABC sitcom The Conners is coming to free streaming services.

Lionsgate’s Worldwide Television Distribution Group and Debmar-Mercury struck a multi-year global licensing deal with Werner Entertainment, which produces the show, to bring the Emmy Award-winning comedy series to syndication and streaming platforms.

Debmar-Mercury, a subsidiary of Lionsgate, will focus on domestic syndication. The Worldwide Television Distribution Group will manage global distribution on SVOD, AVOD, basic cable, and free ad-supported platforms.

While the latest season of The Conners is available to stream on Hulu, you can’t watch the back catalog of older shows. This deal enables you to eventually watch all five seasons on various platforms.

“Lionsgate’s global reach and success across all platforms makes us extremely confident they will successfully bring The Conners to audiences worldwide,” said Tom Werner, founder of the production company.

The deal grants the rights to all five seasons of The Conners and future seasons. The show premiered in 2018 and is a continuation of Roseanne after the death of its titular character. The series ranks as one of ABC’s top-rated scripted series totaling 93 episodes, with an audience of 4.9 million.

“In the tradition of some of the most successful, longest-running multi-cam sitcoms, The Conners promises to be a great addition to TV stations’ lineups and will offer a proven competitive advantage to broadcasters for years to come,” said Debmar-Mercury Co-Presidents Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus.

The Conners stars John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Oranson, Michael Fishman, Emma Kenney, Ames McNamara, Jayden Rey, Maya Lynne Robinson, and Jay R. Ferguson.

In May, ABC renewed the series for a sixth season, which is on hold until the writer and actor strikes end. The next season could be the last look into the lives of the Conners. John Goodman hints the show “may be coming to an end,” according to an interview with France 24.The partnership is still in the early stages, and there’s no news on when The Conners will actually start streaming. New episodes will air on ABC and available on Hulu the next day.
