We asked over 2,000 of our readers what free streaming service they thought was best and with over 40 percent of the vote The Roku Channel was the clear winner.
Here is the full break down of votes:
- The Roku Channel: 40.6 percent
- Pluto TV: 34.3 percent
- Sony Crackle: 14.6 percent
- Tubi: 9.1 percent
- Popcornflix: 1.3 percent
All others did not get even 1 percent of the vote.
It is a bit of a surprise to see The Roku Channel number one on the list. It is by far the newest service of all the ones listed. It also is currently limited to Roku devices. With that said, 70 percent of our readers did say they use Roku Players to stream their content, so maybe it is no surprise that The Roku Channel would do so well.
A battle to keep an eye on is the fight between Crackle and Tubi for third place. Right now, Crackle has third place locked up. Recently Crackle in Canada shut down leaving many to wonder about the future of Crackle in the United States.
Tubi is also spending big to grow their catalog and user base. Keep a close eye on that in the future.
