Still think cable TV is cheaper? According to a story from U.S. News, the average monthly cable TV package is now $217.42 a month, according to 2022 numbers. This comes as companies like Comcast, DIRECTV, and more have all announced price hikes and fee increases in 2023 that can easily have pushed that number up over $220 a month.

Recently, we learned with the newly increased Comcast fees, an Xfinity customer with two TV boxes could easily end up paying over $800 a year in fees in 2023.

Increasingly the cost of cable TV and streaming has been going up. The good news is the price hikes on both have been very similar, meaning you are likely saving the same amount in 2023 as you did in 2022. It’s never fun when you are hit by a price hike, but sadly everything seems to be going up in price.

The high costs of live TV streaming services have been pushing more cord cutters into on-demand only services like Paramount+ and Hulu. If you are not a sports fan, the need for a on-demand live TV service is not what it once was. Often you can access most if not all of your favorite shows on-demand the next day for far less than you would with a traditional pay-TV service.
