Amazon will give thousands of dollars to its most thanked delivery drivers this holiday season. The top five drivers will win $25,000 for themselves and an additional matching donation from Amazon to give to the charity of their choice.
Thanking your delivery driver enters them into a contest that runs from December 12 through the 31. The 1,000 most thanked drivers of each day win $100 each. Amazon will also give the top five drivers from each week of the competition $10,000. Five winners will be selected for the week of December 18 to 24 and another five from December 25 through 31.
The grand prize for the five most thanked drivers throughout the promotion is $25,000, plus an additional $25,000 to give to their favorite charity.
Amazon drivers received 2 million thank yous from customers in the first two days of this promotion. The company pledged to send $5 for each thank you received at no cost to customers. In the first two years of this feature, Amazon customers have thanked their delivery drivers more than 22 million times.
The Alexa, Thank My Driver feature launched in 2022 and lets customers directly show appreciation to the crew making their deliveries. It’s available to U.S. customers with an Alexa-enabled device like an Echo or Echo Show. Customers can also find it on the Alexa app, Amazon.com, or the Amazon mobile shopping app.
To thank your driver, say, “Alexa, thank my driver,” or type “Thank my driver” into the search portal on Amazon. The driver who completed your most recent delivery will be notified and entered into the contest. You must do this within 14 days of receiving your order. Amazon drivers can see a tally of all their customers’ gratitude year-round, not just during this seasonal contest.
