‘Tenet’ is Getting an Early Screening in Select Theaters

The long-awaited Christopher Nolan film Tenet is hitting the big screen two days early in select cities where theaters are open. Warner Bros. is holding early access screenings on Aug. 31, Sept. 1 and Sept. 2, three days ahead of the movie’s premiere date.

“Warner Bros. is proud to support our partners in exhibition as they reopen their doors,” said Jeff Goldstein, President, Warner Bros. Pictures Domestic Distribution. “And there could be no better film to welcome audiences back to a true big-screen experience than Tenet.”

Tenet will mark the reopening of movie theatres in the U.S., just a few days after Canada’s August 27th release of the film. The U.S. release date has been pushed back multiple times throughout the summer due to theater closures and concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic. Now the movie-going experience is creating a comeback with a big name film like Tenet to draw in crowds after more than a season-long hiatus.

There are still many major movie theaters that won’t be opening for the film’s debut. California theaters are currently closed with no set date for reopening yet as the state tries to get new coronavirus cases under control. And New York is pushing back reopening dates as well, deeming them less essential than other services.
