TCL Announces New 8K TVs Later This Year, TVs with Built-In Voice Control, & More

Today, at their press event at CES, TCL has been making some big announcements about new products, more features, and system updates that will create a better viewing experience for consumers.

The big news from TCL is the release of the of 8K Roku TVs announced last year. The company says these new models will be available later this year.

TCL has announced that some 2019 TCL Roku TVs will be a HDMI 2.1 update. Veritable refresh rates are also coming to select TVs this year. HDMI 2.1 is the most recent update of the HDMI specification and supports a range of higher video resolutions and refresh rates

TCL is also releasing a TV coloration app to calibrate the color of your TV, for the 6 and 8 series.

One big focus for the company will be voice command integration. TCL will be launching TVs with a built in microphone to offer voice controls through Alexa and Google. This will bring more convenient voice assistance and handsfree smart home control directly through integrated microphones on TVs launching in markets around the world. This will build on the voice support that was introduced last year,  including TCL Roku TVs with Easy Voice Control in North America.

TCL is partnering with THX for a new game mode, called THX Certified Game Mode.
