TCL Announces Android TV Models for US Market, Plans to Keep Selling Roku TVs

TCL said it’s bolstering its smart TV lineup, adding new Android TV models to sell alongside its slate of Roku TVs. So far, the new options include 40-inch and 32-inch versions of the company’s 3 Series smart TVs.

Meanwhile, TCL’s Roku TV models, which were introduced back in 2014, will continue to be offered throughout the company’s lineup, including its midrange 6 Series and higher-end 8 Series.

“Our award-winning TV lineup helped propel us into America’s second-largest TV brand just five years after we introduced our products in the US and with those significant achievements, we believe this is the perfect time to deliver another option for consumers with Android TV,” Chris Larson, senior vice president for TCL North America, said in a press release.

As for the new Android TV variants, they’re now available at Best Buy starting at $129.99 for the 32-inch model and going up to $199.99 for the 40-incher. In case you’re wondering, those prices line up exactly with the going rate for the Roku versions of TCL’s 3 Series.
