T-Mobile unveiled its latest wave of Hometown Grant recipients this week, distributing up to $50,000 each to 25 small towns and rural communities across the U.S. to fund local revitalization projects. This round, part of a five-year, $25 million commitment launched in April 2021, pushes the Un-carrier’s total investment past $16 million, supporting 375 communities in 48 states and Puerto Rico. Announced today, the grants aim to spark development—from firehouse upgrades to playgrounds—while tallying over 150,000 volunteer hours since the program’s start.
“When we started Hometown Grants nearly four years ago, we knew T-Mobile could make a real difference in small towns across the country, but the impact has exceeded all expectations,” said Jon Freier, President of T-Mobile Consumer Group. “With this latest round, communities will be able to fund everything from new fire hose technology to expanded food pantry space—creating important, life-changing improvements for the people who call these towns home.” The initiative, partnered with Main Street America, has become a lifeline for rural areas often overlooked by big telecom.
