T-Mobile TV Will Come Out Before Their 5G In-Home Internet

Cheerful family having popcorn while watching television at homeThis week at CES, during an interview with FierceVideo COO Mike Sievert of T-Mobile talked about their new TV service.

According to Sievert, the new T-Mobile TV streaming service will come out before their in-home 5G service; however, the 5G in-home service and their TV streaming service will go “hand in hand.”

Now that does not mean you will need T-Mobile 5G to get their TV service. Sievert was very clear that T-Mobile won’t care who you get your Internet from if you want to use their TV service.

Sievert went on to say that there is still a ton of work to do both in 5G in-home broadband and video streaming. Yet T-Mobile is dedicated to both and sees an opportunity in live TV streaming.

Now the only question is when will this happen. T-Mobile TV was meant to go live in 2018. Now it is delayed until sometime in 2019. Hopefully, we will learn more including pricing and channel availability for the new T-Mobile TV service soon.
