T-Mobile TV Is Reportedly Delayed Until 2019

Male hand holding TV remote control. For months now one of the most anticipated streaming services has been the new live TV service from T-Mobile. Since the service was first announced, T-Mobile has promised to release it by the end of 2018—something T-Mobile confirmed to Cord Cutters News just this month. Yet now there are reports from Bloomberg that T-Mobile TV is delayed until 2019.

T-Mobile had already confirmed to Cord Cutters News that the streaming version of T-Mobile TV would be delayed until in 2019; however, now it sounds like the home version will also be delayed until 2019.

There are some signs that T-Mobile is close to launching their TV service. Back at the start of November 2018, T-Mobile’s new streaming player cleared the FCC, according to a new filing on the FCC website. The new box carries the T-Mobile logo and is called T-Mobile Mini; however, the device is still labeled at the FCC as a Layer3 TV device. (T-Mobile purchased Layer3 TV.)

According to reports, this new player has 802.11ac Wi-Fi with Bluetooth LE. The device will have Ethernet and a USB port for manual updates.

For now, we will have to wait and see what T-Mobile does next.
