T-Mobile Begins Offering a Limited Pilot Home Internet Service As They Work on Their 5G Home Internet

Women Using LaptopToday T-Mobile announced that they have started to test home internet services using LTE. This program is looking for 50,000 households to start testign out T-Mobile’s new home internet services ahead of their 5G home internet services launch.

“Two weeks ago, I laid out our plans for home broadband with the New T-Mobile. Now, we’re already hard at work building toward that future,” said John Legere, CEO of T-Mobile. “We’re walking the walk and laying the foundation for a world where we can take the fight to Big Cable on behalf of consumers and offer real choice, competition and savings to Americans nationwide.”

The new services will offer 50 Mbps down home internet (due to “LTE network and spectrum capacity constraints”) for $50 a month with no data cap. T-Mobile is quick to add that the new 5G home internet services will be far faster when it launches. T-Mobile says current customers in select areas eligible to participate in the pilot will receive T-Mobile Home Internet invitations this week by email and U.S. mail with information on how to sign up.
