T-Mobile Added More Home Internet Customers Than AT&T, Comcast, Charter, & Verizon Combined

T-Mobile has made its 5G home internet service a key focus of its business. Now in just three months of the 1st quarter of 2023, T-Mobile added 523,000 home internet customers.

That number is more new home internet customers than AT&T, Comcast, Charter, and Verizon added in the 4th quarter of 2022 combined, according to T-Mobile. This comes as Americans are being drawn to cheaper new options, including T-Mobile’s $ 50-a-month home internet service.

“T-Mobile’s focused execution against our intentional growth plan delivered best-in-class postpaid and broadband customer and profitability growth in Q1 that gave us confidence to raise our 2023 guidance for customers and profitability,” said T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert. “For more than ten years, the Un-carrier has put customers first and we will continue to do just that. Our unique ability to offer the best network and best value, coupled with moves like Phone Freedom and our new Go5G plans, will only continue to fuel our profitable future growth in this competitive environment.”

T-Mobile also announced that it added 1.3 million postpaid wireless customers. This comes as churn for T-Mobile’s postpaid plans was just 0.89%.

Service revenues for T-Mobile were $15.5 billion, up 3% year-over-year. Net income was $1.9 million, up 172% year-over-year.

T-Mobile also reported that its 5G network now covers 98% of Americans. Its Ultra-Capacity 5G now covers 275 million people. T-Mobile plans to expand its Ultra Capacity this year to reach 300 million people.

T-Mobile now offers a money-back guarantee to new customers, letting them try T-Mobile Home Internet without worry.

With this offer, new T-Mobile Home Internet customers will get a 15-day “test drive” to test out the service. If they don’t like it, they will receive a one-time bill credit to refund them for the service.

T-Mobile’s internet service includes average speeds of 100 Mbps, skips equipment rentals, and is available for $50/month with no contracts. 100 Mbps is fast enough to stream in 4K, surf the web, and power your smart home.
