Survey: Nearly One Third of Adults are More Likely to Sign Up for HBO Max Thanks to WarnerBros Releases

Content is always a big draw when it comes to deciding which streaming service to use, and HBO Max has sweetened its appeal with this year’s WarnerBros plan to release every major film on the platform at the same time it hits theaters.

In fact, almost one-third of respondents in a new survey by FinanceBuzz say they are much more likely to sign up for HBO Max now that the WarnerBros film release plan is in place.

Six in 10 people said they’re either “much more likely” or “slightly more likely” to subscribe to HBO Max because of this release schedule. With people still reluctant to head to theaters and many venues still closed, HBO Max provides a safe, convenient, and cost-effective alternative to the traditional movie experience when it comes to seeing new releases.

Original content and interest in a single show are also big draws when it comes to the deciding factor of which streaming service to sign up for. From the survey, 26% of respondents say they signed up for Disney+ just for The Mandalorian, 23% signed up for HBO for Game of Thrones, and 26% signed up for Netflix to watch Stranger Things

Content is the second most important driving factor people consider when choosing to sign up for a streaming service, second only to price. According to FinanceBuzz, more than 31% of people surveyed say the content library is important in the decision making, while over half of respondents cited price as the most important factor.
