Study: PlayStation Vue, Sling TV, & DIRECTV NOW Customers Are Far Happier Than Cable TV Customers

Family Enjoying Movie Night At Home TogetherToday, the American Customer Satisfaction Index was released and, for the first time, streaming services have been included. In what may be the least surprising news of the day, live TV streaming services like Sling TV, DIRECTV NOW, and PlayStation Vue have a far higher customer satisfaction rating than cable TV customers.

According to the study, in 2018 only 62% of traditional pay-TV subscribers are happy with their service. That is down 3.1% since the same previous year.

Compare that to the average happiness of a streaming service at 75%. When you dive down into it you will find that all of the major live TV streaming services have customer satisfaction ratings far higher than cable TV customers.

PlayStation Vue has the highest rating with 78%, followed by Hulu at 75%. Sling TV was at 71% and DIRECTV NOW was at 70%.

Considering Netflix was also at 78% PlayStation Vue seems to be keeping their customers very happy. Some other interesting numbers:

The lowest-rated streaming service was Sony Crackle at 68%. Even at that low rating Sony Crackle is higher than nearly every traditional pay-TV service.

When looking at the big pay-TV services, I’m sure everyone wants to know how Comcast did. According to this report, only 57% of Comcast subscribers are happy. Here are a few other pay-TV satisfaction numbers:

From looking at these numbers maybe it is no wonder why so many Americans are ditching a cable TV for cord cutting.
