In a press release from the company, we learned that the live streaming works by giving Stringr customers the ability to request live coverage of events. Videographers in the area can then live stream their video. Customers have instant access to the real-time video, which they can share and even monetize on their platforms and social media accounts.
Lindsay Stewart, CEO and co-founder of Stringr, explained. “Stringr’s Live offering provides near limitless live coverage – no matter how many events, no matter how far away with Stringr you can have a live feed ready to go to air, placed on your website, or published to social all without leaving your desk.”
The Weather Channel will be one of the first customers to use the new function. In the spring, The Weather Channel will be using Stringr to improve live storm coverage. “Through Stringr’s robust network of videographers, we will be able to provide our viewers with the quality content and the ground truth they’re looking for as quickly as they need it” said Nora Zimett, SVP of content and programming for The Weather Channel.
