It’s been one week since the enormously successful filmed version of Hamilton became available to stream on Disney+, and now you can catch up with Lin Manuel Miranda himself as well as other talent from the production in a special conversation, “Hamilton: History Has Its Eyes On You.” The interview will be hosted by GMA’s Robin Roberts and will premiere on Disney+ Friday, July 10.
During the special, viewers can hear about the show’s creation and how its message couldn’t be more relevant than at a time like now given the current social and political state of the country. The parallels between Hamilton’s historical premise during the American Revolution in 1776 to today’s ongoing circumstances are similar and provide opportunities for us to learn the true meaning of liberty and justice for all.
“Hamilton: History Has Its Eyes On You” features creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda, director Thomas Kail, cast members from the original Broadway production; Christopher Jackson (George Washington), Leslie Odom Jr.(Aaron Burr), Phillipa Soo (Eliza Hamilton), Renée Elise Goldsberry, (Angelica Schuyler), Daveed Diggs (Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson) and Harvard historian and Professor Annette Gordon-Reed. Okieriete Onaodowan (Hercules Mulligan and James Madison) appears in the tape piece at the top of the show.
