Starz’s Streaming Service Tops 3 Million Subscribers

As cord cutting grows and streaming becomes popular even among cable subscribers, this week we learned that Starz’s streaming service has topped 3 million subscribers. Starz not only has a standalone app for their streaming service but also uses the Amazon Channels service to help them push growth.

The Starz service costs $8.99 a month (after a 7-day free trial) and includes access to a large catalog of movies. These movies include Disney movies like Pixar’s UP and Marvel movies like Spider-Man Home Coming. Starz has also expanded their lineup to include kids shows like Garfield and Friends and Inspector Gadget. You will even find a growing lineup of anime including Ghost in the Shell.

With your subscription, you also get access to the live Starz channels on top of the on-demand library.

It is easy to understand why subscribers are moving away from subscribing to services like Starz through their pay-TV provider. It is far easier to add or drop services if you subscribe through their app than through your cable provider.
