Starry Internet announced its newest expansion will be to the Columbus Ohio area. The low-cost, reliable hybrid fiber wireless internet provider will be bringing its service to the City of Columbus and surrounding communities sometime this summer, joining current service areas of Boston, Los Angeles, Denver, and Washington DC.
What’s more, Columbus residents who sign up through Starry’s early-adopter program, Voyager, will be able to lock in lifetime pricing of $25 per month. That rate will give customers up to 200 Mbps near-symmetrical broadband service, with no data caps or data overage fees, no long-term contracts and access to 24/7 human customer support.
With this launch, Starry is also bringing its ultra-affordable program Starry Connect to the Columbus area. Starry Connect partners with local low-income housing developments to bring affordable internet to the residents without requiring a credit check or other individual criteria eligibility. Starry Connect will also give six months of free internet service to new affordable housing partners that join the Connect program before the end of 2021.
Providing low-income families with fast, reliable internet has been a priority especially during the COVID-19 pandemic with people working from home and children facing remote learning obstacles.
