Spotify Launches a Free Streaming Music App Called Stations in The United States

Spotify has long been known for its subscription music service. Now Spotify has released a new app on iOS called Stations that will give users access to curated music stations. You will even be able to access Spotify Stations for free as long as you don’t mind ad breaks in your music. Or you can listen to ad-free if you pay.

This new Stations app is much more like a traditional radio station with categories like the 1970s and 2000s or stations like Rock and Country. Free users will be able to thumb up and down songs but won’t be able to skip any. Listeners who subscribe to Spotify will be able to also skip songs in addition to having an ad-free subscription.

Stations was originally launched in Australia. Now Spotify is rolling out the service in the United States. Spotify has not commented on plans to continue rolling out Stations to new markets around the world.
