For the first time since the end of the Disney fight, Spectrum came out with public comments about its fight with Disney. According to Charter CFO Jessica Fischer, the deal between Disney and Spectrum “met all of our objectives” and more importantly, losses to subscribers were less than anticipated.

According to Jessica Fischer TV subscriber losses from the outage were “much less than what we anticipated.” Also, there was only a “very, very small” impact don’t their internet subscribers. “We’ve come out the other side of this doing well from a consumer perspective.” she added in closing according to Deadline.

With the fight over between Spectrum and Disney other companies are taking note of Spectrum’s success. If Spectrum could get Disney to agree to drop 8 networks from Spectrum and give its subscribers free Disney+ and free ESPN+ this has left others wondering what they could get from Disney or other companies.

This success by Spectrum could mean in the short term blackouts could become more common. Many cable TV companies have reportedly been watching this fight very closely for ways they can also reduce the number of channels they offer and bring streaming to cable subscribers.

With this Spectrum deal Freeform, FXM, FXX, Disney Junior, Disney XD, Baby TV, Nat Geo Wild and Net Geo Mundo won’t be returning to Spectrum as part of the cable company’s programming deal with Disney.

Much of the content found on these channels can now be accessed by Spectrum customers through Disney+, which will be included for free to its subscribers later this year.
