Today it was reported on DSLReports that Spectrum had started to raise their Broadcast TV fee from $6.05 a month to $7.50 a month starting in August 2017.
So what is the Broadcast TV fee? Well that fee is charged to offer subscribers local TV stations as part of their cable TV subscriptions.
This is one of many fees added on top of the advertised cable TV rates. This fee is not only applied to traditional pay TV customers but also on their live TV streaming service.
So the advertised rate of $19.95 a month for their live TV streaming service will now cost subscribers $27.45 a month.
About Spectrums Streaming Service:
The new Spectrum TV Stream service costs $19.95 a month with no long-term contracts. It will include all your local stations and even PBS. You will also find A&E, History, Hallmark, FX, TLC, WGN America, AMBC, HGTV, and more. In total, you will get over 25 live TV networks.
You will also get access to 5,000 free on-demand titles and will also be able to access many network apps with your Spectrum Stream login.
For $15 a month you can add HBO, SHOWTIME, The Movie Channel, Starz, and StarzEncore. Or, if you just want one of these, you can get it for just $7.50 a month (Locked in for 3 years).
For now, the coverage are very limited and seem to be restricted to current Spectrum markets. We have reached out to Spectrum to learn more about areas that this is available in and will update this post when we learn more.
