Spectrum Lost 145,000 TV Customers & 99,000 Voice Customers in The 1st Quarter of 2019

Today Spectrum announced their 1st quarter 2019 subscriber numbers. In that report, it was announced that Spectrum lost 145,000 TV and voice lost 99,000 subscribers in just 3 months. This comes as Spectrum residential video customers decreased by 36,000 in the fourth quarter of 2018.

One of the bright spots for Spectrum was that they added 176,000 wireless mobile customers in the first quarter, compared to 113,000 wireless customers added in the fourth quarter of 2018. As of March 31, 2019, Charter had a total of 310,000 mobile customers.

So far, Comcast, Verizon, and AT&T have also reported their first quarter 2019 numbers, over 900,000 people canceled their pay-TV service. AT&T also announced that DIRECTV NOW lost 83,000 subscribers in the 1st quarter of 2019. This is compared to the 4th quarters of 2018 when DIRECTV NOW lost 267,000 subscribers.

AT&T has been warning that DIRECTV NOW would likely lose subscribers now that has come true. In total AT&T lost 544,000 TV subscribers in the 1st quarter of 2019 up from a loss of 391,000 TV subscribers across all of their TV brands in the 4th quarter of 2018.

In total now AT&T, Spectrum, Comcast, and Verizon have lost over 1 million subscribers in just 3 months.
