How it Works:
It looks like Charter is going to use their network of Wi-Fi networks and Verizon. If you are within reach of a Spectrum WiFi network your phone will auto connect. If you are outside the reach of a Spectrum Wi-Fi network your phone will connect to the Verizon network.
For The User Who Needs Unlimited Data:
If you want unlimited data Spectrum will offer a $45 a month unlimited data plan for 1 person or $90 a month for two lines with unlimited data, talk, and text. Compare that to $70 for T-Mobile, $75 for Verizon, or $65 for AT&T and you can see some real savings.
For Users Who Just Want Talk, Text, & a Little Data
If you don’t use a ton of data Spectrums $14 a month phone service maybe something to look at. For $14 a month you get unlimited talk and text along with 1 GB of data. After that, it is $14 for each additional GB used every month. Compare that to $35 for Verizon’s 2GB plan or $35 for AT&T’s 1 GB plan.
Even with the limitations though for someone who is not a heavy phone user this could be a service to look into.
Correction: The price per gig after the first GB is $14, not $12. You also need to buy a phone from Spectrum.
