Have you ever been frustrated with bad internet service and wanted to sue your unhelpful ISP? One man in Colorado did just that and won his lawsuit.

After 15 months of bad internet service, Jack Turner sued Spectrum after it only offered a one-month refund.

What may be the most interesting part of this lawsuit was an argument that Spectrum’s terms of service were unenforceable. The Judge said that the agreement was not enforceable as a “clickwrap” agreement awarding $814.85 to Turner and $74 for his filing fee.

It is expected that Spectrum’s parent company, Charter Communications Operating LLC, will appeal the ruling. If this ruling stands and Spectrum’s terms of service are not enforceable, it could open them up to a long list of lawsuits from unhappy customers.

This will not just impact Spectrum if this holds up, it could open up all internet service providers to lawsuits like this. For now, we will have to wait and see what happens with the appeal.
