Spectrum & Disney Add Hulu to Spectrum TV Packages & Bring Back 5 Disney Cable TV Networks Including Disney Jr.

Charter Communications the parent company of Spectrum and The Walt Disney Company today unveiled a groundbreaking expansion of their distribution agreement, delivering Hulu (With Ads) to all Spectrum TV Select customers at no additional cost. Set to roll out later this summer, this enhanced offering will provide access to Hulu’s vast library of hit TV series, films, and award-winning Originals, complementing existing complimentary access to ad-supported Disney+ and the highly anticipated ESPN streaming service, slated for launch by fall 2025. This move elevates the retail streaming value for TV Select customers to over $100 per month, creating a premium entertainment package that redefines the viewing experience.

The agreement also marks the return of eight Disney-owned cable TV networks to Spectrum’s lineup, including Disney Jr, Disney XD, Freeform, FXX, FXM, Nat Geo Wild, Nat Geo Mundo, and BabyTV. This robust addition, paired with Hulu’s streaming capabilities, significantly enhances Spectrum’s cable TV packages.

“We began this journey to transform the video proposition for consumers with Disney, so it is befitting that this new agreement and the doubling down on our strategy continues with them,” said Tom Montemagno, Executive Vice President, Programming Acquisition for Charter. “This extension is a true testament to our mutual confidence in this innovative model – which already is showing improvement in subscriber churn – and our commitment to work creatively together to achieve win-win outcomes for both of us and most importantly for our customers – all achieved mid-cycle and absent from any of the typical pressures from expiring agreements.”

Sean Breen, Executive Vice President, Disney Platform Distribution, echoed this sentiment: “We’re thrilled to expand our partnership with Charter, bringing Hulu and our full portfolio of channels to Spectrum customers. This agreement underscores Disney’s commitment to leveraging our best-in-class programming across every genre and platform, creating a powerful combination of linear and streaming content that delivers unmatched value.”

The renewed carriage agreement will be supported by joint marketing and promotional efforts, leveraging Disney’s iconic intellectual property, beloved characters, and top-tier talent. Charter will also offer Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu, Disney Bundles, and the forthcoming ESPN streaming service for purchase to its broadband-only customers at retail rates, with TV Select customers able to upgrade to ad-free streaming tiers. At launch, Hulu’s content and Spectrum’s live TV channels will be accessible via the Xumo Stream Box or any Hulu-supported device, ensuring seamless integration for viewers.
