Spectrum and AMC Networks announced today that Spectrum TV Select customers now have access to the ad-supported version of AMC+, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service, at no additional charge. Typically retailing for $6.99 per month, AMC+ offers a robust lineup of popular original series such as “Dark Winds” and “Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches,” fresh installments from “The Walking Dead” Universe, exclusive films, and acclaimed classics like “Mad Men.” This enhancement stems from a multi-year programming renewal agreement between the two companies, initially revealed in September of last year.
Tom Montemagno, Executive Vice President of Programming Acquisition for Spectrum, highlighted the customer-centric approach behind the move. “Offering AMC+ as part of Spectrum TV Select is part of our overall customer-first philosophy to provide customers with flexibility and choice to watch what they want, when and on what platform at the most competitive price,” he said. Montemagno noted that integrating streaming services like AMC+ into Spectrum’s video packages delivers approximately $80 in retail app value, accessible conveniently through platforms like the Xumo Stream Box. “Our continued partnership with AMC allows us to not only simplify but enhance the viewing experience for our mutual customers,” he added.
AMC+ brings a wealth of premium content to Spectrum subscribers, drawing from AMC, BBC America, IFC, SundanceTV, and specialized streaming platforms like Shudder, Sundance Now, and IFC Films Unlimited. The service features same-day availability of all AMC original series, alongside streaming exclusives such as the new Lianne Moriarty adaptation “The Last Anniversary” and a weekly slate of new movie premieres every Friday.
Kim Kelleher, Chief Commercial Officer of AMC Networks, emphasized the strategic importance of the collaboration. “Core to our strategy is working with partners to make our popular and critically acclaimed content available to viewers wherever and however they want to consume it, and this collaboration with Spectrum is a perfect example of how to meet viewers where they are with the shows and films they love,” she said. Kelleher described AMC+ as a hub for premium adult-oriented storytelling, encompassing major franchises, iconic library titles, horror, independent films, and more. “We are thrilled to expand the universe of viewers who have access to this premium service by including it in Spectrum TV Select packages at no additional cost to the customer through this forward-looking agreement,” she added.
Alongside AMC+, Spectrum TV Select subscribers can use the Xumo Stream Box to instantly stream other ad-supported services like Max, Disney+, ESPN+, Paramount+, Peacock, ViX, and Tennis Channel, with additional streaming options slated for inclusion later this year.
