As SpaceX continues to roll out its Starlink satellite internet service around the world, the company has partnered with Google to place Starlink terminals at Google cloud data centers.
With the partnership, SpaceX will use the cloud to better serve Starlink customers while Google will have access to Starlink’s fast and secure internet for enterprise customers, which Google says is key to serving “organizations with broad footprints” and those located in rural areas. Google Cloud and Starlink customers will be available in the second half of this year.
“Combining Starlink’s high-speed, low-latency broadband with Google’s infrastructure and capabilities provides global organizations with the secure and fast connection that modern organizations expect,” said SpaceX President and Chief Operating Officer Gwynne Shotwell. “We are proud to work with Google to deliver this access to businesses, public sector organizations, and many other groups operating around the world.”
