Sorry, Roku is Not Getting Access to Apple AirPlay 2 But You Still Have Casting Options

Roku Ultra with PackagingYesterday the long-awaited Apple TV App finally arrived on Roku Players and Roku TVs. Unfortunately, many people are disappointed because the Apple TV App on Roku does not include AirPlay 2 support, meaning iPhone, iPad, and Mac users will not be able to cast their screens to Roku devices.

This does not seem to be an oversight or a feature that will be added later. At no point did Apple or Roku say AirPlay 2 support was coming to Roku. The good news is the Apple TV App on Roku will let you access movies and TV shows you purchased from iTunes. Also, Roku does support casting from select apps like Netflix and YouTube.
