Sony Is Working on a Overhaul of PlayStation Vue

Recently Sony quietly rolled out some changes to the PlayStation Vue guide on some devices. It seems that was just the start.

Yesterday Sony emailed a small group of PlayStation Vue subscribers a survey called the Vue Naming Survey. Sony asked several questions about naming different areas.

The one area that was shared with Cord Cutters News was about a new name for the DVR section.

Here is that question:

From the wording of the survey it seems that Sony is getting ready for a massive overhaul of how PlayStation Vue looks and works. Likely ending in a totally new user interface. (A much needed one on many of its devices.)

From talking with one of the recipients of the survey it seems most of the questions were about the DVR area. Often when research like this happens different surveys for different areas are sent out to different people.

It’s hard to tell how far along this redesign is at this time. A survey could mean that it is just starting or that it is built and Sony is just looking at the best way to rename everything. Only time will tell, but hopefully Sony updates its Roku app for its PlayStation Vue service.

We have contacted Sony for comment and will update this story when we learn more.
