Some DIRECTV NOW Beta Testers Need to Manually Update

Channel Surfing ManToday DIRECTV NOW started to reach out to beta testers notifying them that they may need to manually update their app if they use iPhone, iPads, or the Apple TV beta app.

Here is the email they are sending out to Beta Testers:

Good Morning Testers,

Well, we’re not perfect – but we’re working on it…

Last night we were upgrading a few things and a handful of customers lost their streams.  You may have been one of them – our apologies.  That said, we learned a few things along the way and we expect that the resulting changes should make the experience better in the future.

Manual update needed for iPhone/iPad & Apple TV beta app – new version: #582

In order to recover on iOS and tvOS you will need to update your build manually.  Update by opening your TestFlight app and selecting ‘update’ next to the DIRECTV NOW Beta App.  (Reminder: you must open TestFlight with the same Apple ID that was used the first time when you downloaded the TestFlight app.)

Please update your iOS and tvOS build(s) as soon as possible.  Thanks again for testing along with us.

DIRECTV NOW Beta Team

So if you have the beta app from DIRECTV NOW we highly recommend you run the update as soon as possible.
